That's great because you don't need a tool to adjust it. The height is set using a thumb wheel on the side. For example, I have a McMillan with an adjustable cheek rest. Often times if a stock has tool-free adjustments they aren't rock-solid. They had peeled everything off of it that wasn't absolutely necessary.

The chassis itself is what I was talking about. If so, great, if not, get something else:Ībsolutely. It is pretty as hell, but it weighs a lot and you had better like the way it comes. In the end, I think the reason to buy the JAE over another adjustable cheek riser chassis is looks.

It is only going to work for Remington 700 actions or close clones, and even some clones won't fit if the ten on is too long. The locking mechanism for the cheek rest is a bit wonky and certainly not idiot proof. I just wish the length of pull spacers came in smaller sizes to really fine tune the length for the buttstock. I have one in OD green that is being used for this current rifle build, and it is comfortable as all get out to get behind. It is also pretty hefty, and in PRS weight = less speed. You can add rails or ask for a quick take down feature on the cheek rest, but if you want a QD hole at a specific location, you are out of luck. The JAE can also be somewhat customized, but not to the level of the Manners. Any color, any coating, any inlet for any action is possible via gunsmith. If I want two QD holes on the left, none on the bottom, and one placed 7 inches from the bolt handle inlet on the right, I can get that. Love this stock for how it can be customized.

It is as rigid as any chassis due to the carbon fiber and it really lightens up the build weight a bit. The manners is a work of art in an engineering sense. Having shot both the manners and McMillan and own a JAE stock, I think I can weigh in here. If you see posts like that going forward, please report them so they can be removed.
